Marriott First World Equity Feeder Fund
Some of the biggest companies in the world on the highest dividend yields in 20 years
The mega-cap securities in the US, UK and Europe are trading on dividend yields last seen in the 80’s – an unusual value opportunity. Not only are these above-average dividends, they are also reliable, growing dividends from some of the biggest companies in the world.
A difficult financial environment has created an unprecedented buying opportunity for Investors who are able to recognise that quality international companies with excellent track records of growing their distributions year after year are likely to continue doing so. Investors may enjoy a re-rating opportunity that would follow as, over time, the share price tracks the dividend growth.
The yields of some of the world's biggest companies are trading at all-time highs, fuelled by the credit crunch and global inflation concerns – this has created an excellent buying opportunity that the Marriott First World Equity Feeder Fund will continue to take advantage of.
This is a rand-denominated portfolio offering access to the Marriott First World Equity Fund without requiring the Investor to obtain permission from the South African Reserve Bank or the South African Revenue Service to transfer the funds offshore. The Investor will invest and disinvest Rands as opposed to foreign currency.
The Marriott First World Equity Feeder Fund invests exclusively in the Marriott First World Equity Fund. The fund is a class of shares in an open-ended investment company listed on the Irish Stock Exchange and is regulated by the Irish Financial Services Regulatory Authority.
This fund is managed in conjunction with Marriott International based on the Isle of Man. All asset management decisions are made together with the Marriott Investment Committee using an income-focused approach to investing. The dividend yield of an investment, together with the expected dividend growth from that investment, is used to determine long-term value. Purchasing a security on a relatively high dividend yield (potential for re-rating), with good dividend growth (long-term capital growth) ensures acceptable total returns over time.

Marriott subscribes to the adage "Spend the income, not the capital." Ideally, an Investor’s capital base should not be eroded by drawing an unsustainably high income. In order to achieve this objective it is recommended that the Investor does not draw an income in excess of the fund’s yield – thereby creating an Investment for Life.
